Ireland McCage is a sophomore and English Literature major at Agnes Scott College. McCage has experience in writing in a variety genres, including fiction, non-fiction, academic papers, journalism, and poetry. Before coming to Agnes Scott, she was the Digital Editor-in-Chief of her high school's nationally award-winning journalism program, the ODYSSEY Media Group.

As the Digital Editor-in-Chief, McCage's duties were expansive, including writing breaking news articles, editing staffers' work, directing and coordinating with a team of five, publishing stories on the ODYSSEY website, and coding interactive multimedia content.

Some of her awards include being recognized for her editorial leadership by the National Scholastic Press Association and being awarded first place for review writing at the Southern Interscholastic Press Association conference.

At Agnes Scott, McCage has enrolled in a wide variety of English class, including Southern Women Writers, American Frauds & Charlatans Imagining King Arthur Through Lit/Film. These classes have been influential in developing her current writing style through assigned readings, essays and class discussions.

McCage currently brings a queer, feminist perspective to every piece she works on. She is hoping to continue to develop her perspectives on literature by reading and learning from a variety of diverse viewpoints and incorporating them into her writing.
